Memorial Day Fun

Eric works one holiday in four.... so Memorial Day was his holiday to work.  No big deal because he still got off at 10:30 and we were off to Caledonia State Park with some of our really good friends, the Kemps.  Joy Kemp has a really good friend who nannied with her back in the day from Virginia who came with her family as well.  And I just love them!!  We have the greatest friends!

So we just hung out in the morning getting ready, going grocery shopping for the day and waiting for Eric.

The kids were both enamored by the river/stream and stayed by it All DAY LONG!  Didn't stop to eat, wouldn't stop from getting cold, etc.  I would come feed Peyton like a little bird just so he would get something.

They caught some awesome looking crawfish!  We also found a few snakes!

It's nice having teenagers around to help take care of all the kids.  Kaylyn is one of my young women and I just love her.
We slathered on that sunscreen like it was going out of style.

We stayed at Caledonia for a few hours.  Playing in the creek, talking, eating good food, and going fishing!  Then we went out for some icecream near the Amish market by the Kemps house, followed by an amazing barbeque at their house!  We had such a blast!  The boys took over the grill while us women decided to take a trip to Walmart for some chocolate cake!!!  Yummmm!  We played the candybar game.... I had goten a sweet awesome deal at B.B.'s for the candybars.  Ya know, fun game but I would def recommend playing it with a little older kids.  Ha.  There were all kinds of tantrums about who had what candybar and how unfair life was!!!

Then we made some funnel cake!!  Oh my, it totally blows all carnival/fair funnel cakes right out the window.  There was NO contest!!  They were soooo divine!!!

Stephanie and her husband David... from Virginia!  I sooooo wish they lived closer to us.  They are just the funnest couple ever and Stephanie and I just have a lot in common and see m to connect really well!

Then we all had to say good bye!!!

We had such a wonderful day!  On the way home we thought it would've been nice if we could've visited some family graves so next year we'll do that in the morning then do the barbeques and stuff later.  Thanks Kemps, and Froo's for a great day!!

Life according to my iphone

Good times lately!  I'm usually on this low after we return from Utah but we've kept busy I haven't had time to feel down!  So that's good!

Our little cowboy..... with a light saber in hand and Mr. Potato glasses to see better.

Family Home evenings in the walmart parking lot, tub of icecream in hand!!

We mow the lawn with this huge intense lawn mower and unfortunately the mower spit out a rock and broke our window.  I was not a happy camper..... cause duh, we just bearly got new windows. UGH!!!
 Overall twinners for teh day!
 Nice fro!
 Eating dandelions.... no harm done!

Good thing we have a king sized bed.... bad news is, I still don't have any room!!!

 Icecream cone messes!!!

Peyton LOVES the water hose!  I just turn it on and let him go to town!  He was watering the barn!

Eric is soooooooooooo excited about this new chicken coop!
Peyton likes it for a hiding place.... and pretends to be a chicken!
 Cheesy baby!

Look at this beautiful face!  For teh 2.5 seconds she lets me hold her while I feed her the bottle I just stare down at those big blue eyes and my world stops for awhile.
I got to chaperone the youth for RAD day!  (Really Awesome Day)  It was so fun!!  We went to Gettysburg and did a 5 mile hike around the sites.... while a tour guide stopped us every once a while to tell us about a battle or a historical landmark!!

We rock climbed around Devil's Den (where the fate of the Confederates was decided)

Then Abraham Lincoln came to takl to us.  All the youth were dreading this part and thought it would be boring but it was great!  He did such a good job and was so in character... it really gave all of us such a wonderful sneak peek into the presiden'ts life!!!

After all teh questions were answered and we were standing around taking pictures, he asked all of us if we would sing, "Come, come ye saints."  It was a really awesome experience!  I love spending time with teh youth!
We love Eric waking up with us on weekends!!!  Sadie loves ot crawl alllll over people!  She starts crawling up on Peyton when he's crying, she crawls on anyone who's lying down, etc.
 Cute little sunday outfits!!!

Our first corn of teh season was delicious!  I've waited years to be able to say that.  I'm telling you.... I hated corn but I"m 100% a firm believer in changing your taste buds so after taking a billion tastes over the years... I finally enjoy it a little!!!
Jobs around the yard including making a parking space for our cars.
 Eric's 99% finished chicken coop!

RODEO!!!  Oh my heck!!!!! SUCH A FUN NIGHT!!!  I love rodeos soooo dang much!  Peyton got to do some pony rides.  I thought he'd be a little timid and shy but NO, he ran full throttle onto those horses!!!
He got to ride a huge tall horse and a tiny little bitty horse.... and he was def a bigger fan of the baby horse!

 Breaking out our cowboy boots!!!
We love Mac and cheese..... but.... we sometimes liek to play with it more than we like to eat it.  We have Spiderman, and Bugs mac and cheese.  Peyton was setting up Spiderman's city!

We are soooo blessed!!!!
