Picture time
Her hair is mohawked for fun! She was such a dirty baby!!! We had had a play group, and then went to a park with another friend. Rolling in the dirt the whole day. Plastered in sunscreen. And ending the day with a messy picnic! Her hair is usually so soft that it just lays flat as a pancake... but when it's really dirty you can make it do some crazy things........ fun for mommy!!!!!
Top 5 at our house.
1. Sadie just started walking! She took her first steps a couple days ago........... and I was gone! Boooooo!! I'm here all day long, then when I'm gone for a couple hours in the evening, she decides to do it. Silly baby! Eric was super excited though! It makes us even more grateful for this job and this move, because Eric was literally NEVER around before and there was never even a chance that our babies would have their firsts around him.
2. Peyton is getting too smart for his britches. We picked him out a couple presents the other day from Walmart and though we were being super sneaky.... he totally knew exactly what we got him and where we hid it. Oh well, so much for surprises. He only asked for a bubble gun and some teeth. (he's really bent out of shape that he's going to lose his teeth one day and doesn't understand that they will grow back so he wants some of his own teeth for assurance that when his fall out, he'll have an extra set.) Well, I have NO idea where to get teeth. Since he only asked for two things for his birthday I'm doing my best to find some but Eric was right.... our kids will not get everything they ask for so it's a better time than ever for them to learn that. Still.... if anyone knows where to find some teeth...
3. I'm full swing in teaching zumba classes! I taught my very first class last week at teh church building and had planned to teach once or twice there a week for free. Well, one of my friend's is on the board of this studio/warehouse in the town right next to me and suggested I teach zumba there and charge $5 a class. Kind of a no brainer for me. It's 15 minutes to the studio, 45 minutes to the church building. I'd be making money at the studio.... none at teh church. And more people come to the studio..... we pull from a much larger audience! So yesterday was the very first time I did the studio audience. I was sooooo gosh dang nervous! But ya know what it went realy well! I did forget one whole song...... don't worry, I freestyled it so they didn't even know. So excited to start doing this! I love going to Zumba classes but it's even better teaching one! I absolutely loved it!!!!
4. Eric is totally done with his chicken coop! We're sooo proud of him! His next project includes little bitty chicks. We are raising 4 baby ones in our mud room. He was rigging up a nice big box for them, until he spotted a ginormous hamster aquarium thing at the yard sale we went to this weekend. So now they have this fancy shmancy hamster house. Lucky chicks! Eric's really excited about us getting the garden all put in! That was his project! I did the side flower bed and he was doing the garden! He still loves his job. In Maryland, he was the only white guy working in teh place.... the rest of the workers were Mexican and he didn't understand hardly a word they said when in conversation so there was no chance of drama there. Then in Hershey, Eric only worked with Barry. Even then, they did as little together as they could. Now Eric is surrounded by tonnnsss of workers all day. All of them are super good good people. His team of 4 that he works with everyday all day is: Brian, 48. Jeff, 52. Tom, 46. They are these wonderful men with families of their own. But it also means there's more drama here. Learning to work with others is an art! Eric is not much for drama....... at all. But he'll come home with stories about who upset who that day and it sure keeps us entertained!!!
5. My house is a disaster! I tell you, I'm just not that great of a homemaker. In my defense, we've been sooo crazy busy lately that we have no time. Today I only have a hair appt in the evening... so I'm going to clean liek crazy..... wish me luck!!!

Memorial Day Fun
Eric works one holiday in four.... so Memorial Day was his holiday to work. No big deal because he still got off at 10:30 and we were off to Caledonia State Park with some of our really good friends, the Kemps. Joy Kemp has a really good friend who nannied with her back in the day from Virginia who came with her family as well. And I just love them!! We have the greatest friends!
So we just hung out in the morning getting ready, going grocery shopping for the day and waiting for Eric.
The kids were both enamored by the river/stream and stayed by it All DAY LONG! Didn't stop to eat, wouldn't stop from getting cold, etc. I would come feed Peyton like a little bird just so he would get something.
They caught some awesome looking crawfish! We also found a few snakes!
It's nice having teenagers around to help take care of all the kids. Kaylyn is one of my young women and I just love her.
We slathered on that sunscreen like it was going out of style.
We stayed at Caledonia for a few hours. Playing in the creek, talking, eating good food, and going fishing! Then we went out for some icecream near the Amish market by the Kemps house, followed by an amazing barbeque at their house! We had such a blast! The boys took over the grill while us women decided to take a trip to Walmart for some chocolate cake!!! Yummmm! We played the candybar game.... I had goten a sweet awesome deal at B.B.'s for the candybars. Ya know, fun game but I would def recommend playing it with a little older kids. Ha. There were all kinds of tantrums about who had what candybar and how unfair life was!!!
Then we made some funnel cake!! Oh my, it totally blows all carnival/fair funnel cakes right out the window. There was NO contest!! They were soooo divine!!!
Stephanie and her husband David... from Virginia! I sooooo wish they lived closer to us. They are just the funnest couple ever and Stephanie and I just have a lot in common and see m to connect really well!
Then we all had to say good bye!!!
We had such a wonderful day! On the way home we thought it would've been nice if we could've visited some family graves so next year we'll do that in the morning then do the barbeques and stuff later. Thanks Kemps, and Froo's for a great day!!
